Cover Crop Cost Share

Thanks to funding from the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District, Ashland SWCD is able to assist producers within the jurisdictional boundaries of MWCD to implement cover crops on their operations. In 2019, over 4,000 acres of cropland in Ashland County were approved for cover crop cost share. Applications are ranked based on criteria such as location behind an MWCD lake or dam, slope, past participation in the program and primary crop. Locally, the Ashland SWCD supervisors chose to award additional points to producers who planned utilize their cover crop fields for winter manure application and who planted an overwintering cover crop. Typically, applications are accepted through the end of June. For more information, contact District Technican Erica White at 419-281-
